Filled with insightful discussions, networking and a whole lot of tech on display, Event Tech Live (ETL) – Las Vegas made a triumphant return to The Expo at WMCLV, Nevada on 1-2 May 2024. For the show’s second edition, Evolution Dome returned as an official supplier and exhibitor, creating spaces for attendees to connect and learn without disruption. 

Back home, our director Ash Austin, and US sales manager Brandon Hyman, reflected on the event, how the show has evolved and the topics on attendees’ minds. 

How did the show go?

 

Ash: Event Tech Live London has always been a highlight on our calendar; it is a strong platform to showcase our products and connect with our community. ETL Vegas’s second edition did a great job of carrying this ethos over to an international audience. 

Brandon: From an exhibitor’s perspective, the show went great! Everyone was really engaged and seemed eager to explore the range of suppliers and tech on the show floor. We got to learn more about some really interesting companies and they seemed equally as interested in looking at the three types of break-out spaces we had to offer at the show. It was nice to see so many people excited about what we do.

How has the show changed since the first edition? 

 

Ash: I don’t think the ETL team has drastically changed anything since the first show, however, they have definitely worked to keep building on the momentum. Community is at the heart of the events industry and the show has positioned itself as a space to foster networking, collaboration and knowledge sharing. Post-show, much of the delegate feedback I have seen has highlighted how much they enjoyed meeting new people and catching up with peers.

Brandon: I think we were able to engage with the show a lot more this year. For the show’s 2023 debut, we provided structures for the coat check area and one round table session. This year, we expanded to include a live theatre area using our Inflatable Walls alongside our Inflatable Panoramic and Office Pods for round table and networking sessions. It opened doors to more conversations with the crew, attendees and other exhibitors. 

What were people talking about at ETL? 

 

Ash: Honestly, I think people were just excited to be there. Between the attendees, speakers and exhibitors, a wide range of perspectives and insights were available. For many we spoke to, there was an eagerness to build connections and knowledge to take back to apply to their events. 

Brandon:  In terms of products, interest was pretty varied but I did notice quite a few people mentioning a need for outdoor spaces. Summer is just around the corner, so creating memorable experiences that can work around the weather is definitely on people’s minds.

What were your highlights from the show?

 

Ash: For me, it was the people. Everyone who attended seemed to be there with a clear understanding of what they wanted and what they needed to make it happen. It made for many interesting and productive conversations.

Brandon:  Talking to the audio guys after the show. They had such a strong and positive reaction to our inflatable walls, which was great to hear. They said the sound insulation helped block out a significant amount of noise and really helped attendees focus on what was happening inside the theatre.

We have always prided ourselves on creating products that improve the experience for our clients and their attendees. However, hearing the direct impact is something else. These moments allow us to understand how our products are used, and the needs they have to fulfil.

Conclusion

 

The show’s second edition, Event Tech Live – Las Vegas 2024 has continued to secure its roots as a platform for US-based event professionals to build their communities. Evolution Dome has a long history with the ETL team and we look forward to seeing how the stateside show will continue to grow and evolve.
