CASE STUDY – MDL Beast

Client Brief

MDLBeast Festival is the first music festival of its kind to take place in Saudi Arabia. Taking place near the capital city of Riyadh, the event welcomed 400,000 visitors over three days to the purpose-built site.

Evolution Dome was selected as an event partner to provide a temporary event structure to house the XP Zone – a specialised event feature designed for festival goers to interact with and experience music in different ways. The installation was targeted at the younger attendees who were encouraged to go “beyond the beats” in a dedicated exhibition space which included a purpose-built music production studio and interactive installation zone.

Objective

The client was looking for a solution that had a more futuristic and interesting feel to fit the overall theme of the festival.

The Evolution Dome inflatable cube was commissioned as it was the “perfect structure that would not only stand out, but also be eye catching on the site to draw in visitors” organisers Lemon X explained.

The Results

The cube was a huge hit and became an iconic feature during the three-day festival recognised amongst festival goers and staff for its striking and standout design, which was much commented on. Functionally, the cube provided a contained weatherproof space and used internal lighting technology so make the cube glowed in low light and at night, giving it a distinguishable personality on site and accentuating the festival’s brand even further.
