Over the last few years, we’ve seen inflatable temporary structures move from niche solutions to a mainstream choice for indoor and outdoor events. They’re faster to install, more flexible in challenging spaces, and increasingly expected to perform like permanent buildings.
But one thing has become clear: while usage has grown, clear, practical guidance hasn’t kept pace.
That’s why we’ve created The Pink Book.
The Pink Book is a practical guide to using inflatable temporary structures at live events. It’s drawn directly from the questions we’re asked most often by event organisers, production teams, venues and local authorities — and from more than 20 years of delivering structures in real-world conditions. Although the guide is produced by Evolution Dome, it’s not intended as a sales brochure. It’s been written as an organiser-first reference, useful to anyone considering inflatable structures, regardless of scale, sector or setting.
Why we created it
Temporary infrastructure is often treated as a last decision, even though it underpins safety, accessibility, compliance and audience experience. When things go wrong, it’s usually not because organisers didn’t care — it’s because they didn’t have access to clear, joined-up information.
We wanted to change that.
The Pink Book brings together what actually matters when planning, specifying and operating inflatable structures — not theory, not trends, but what works on site.
What the guide covers
The guide explores inflatable structures across their full lifecycle, including:
- Safety, structural responsibility and compliance
- Planning permission, licensing and working with local authorities
- Accessibility and inclusive design
- Managing weather, wind and operational risk
- Build time, breakdown and budget expectations
- Sustainability, reuse and reducing waste
- Using inflatable structures indoors, outdoors and in hybrid environments
- Early supplier involvement and collaboration with other contractors
- Common mistakes organisers make — and how to avoid them
Throughout the guide, we focus on one principle that runs through every successful event: reliability. Innovation only matters if it performs under pressure.
Launching at International Confex 2026
We’ll be officially launching The Pink Book at International Confex 2026, where you’ll find us on Stand F30C.
If you’re attending Confex, we’d love you to stop by, pick up access to your own copy, and have a proper conversation about how inflatable structures can work for your events — indoors or outdoors.
